Curricula

Pathfinders of Oregon has several curriculua used throughout the community and in prisons.

Curricula include:

  • Parenting Inside Out Parenting Inside Out (PIO) is an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral parent management skills program created for incarcerated parents through a six-year collaboration of scientists, policy makers, practitioners, and instructional designers. Both the information in the program and the way that information is presented were informed by knowledge derived from research and practice. There are four versions of the curriculum — prison, jail and community — that differ in the number of instructional hours they contain and several of their activities.
  • Journey to Change The Journey to Change program assists individuals in examining their thought processes and helps them discover how errors in their thinking may lead them to act in an asocial, antisocial, or criminal manner. The Journey to Change program takes students through a process beginning with an examination of how beliefs, attitudes, and thinking patterns are exhibited in various aspects of life. Learning modalities include lecture, discussion, self-assessment, and prosocial skill development. Students have extensive opportunities to practice new skills and behaviors.
